December 14th: Bland Cereal And Sugar Free Anti-Masturbation Techniques

On December 14, 1943 in Battle Creek, Michigan, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg died at the age of 91.
Dr Kellogg fervently believed that sex, even masturbation, was so bad for the body that he never engaged in sexual intercourse, even with his wife, and adopted all of his children. As a medical doctor he prescribed treatments included threading silver wire through the foreskin to stop erections and rubbing carbolic acid, which caused chemical burns, on the clitoris.

Kellogg also felt flavorful foods brought sexual desire so he set out to create a food to keep desire to a minimum, and so Kellogg's Corn Flakes was born. Kellogg fought with his brother, W.K. Kellogg, over W.K. wanting to add sugar to the recipe, causing a feud that lasted the rest of their lives.
