September 5: Elvis Presley's Pink Cadillac & The Phrenology Of Music


On September 5 in 1956 Elvis Presley gave his mother a pink Cadillac, painted pink by his neighbor who mixed the color now known as 'Elvis Rose', although his mother never had a driver's license in her life. The car is now on display at Graceland in Memphis Tennessee.

On September 5 in 2008 Professor Adrian North of Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK, published a psychology of music study that found classical music fans to be shy, heavy metal fans are gentle and at ease with themselves, Indie music listeners had low self-esteem and are not hard working, fans of Rap music as well as Country & Western fans had high self-esteem and are outgoing (with Country fans being hard workers) while Reggae fans are creative but not hardworking, and fans of pop had high self-esteem, but are not creative.
